"Monstrous" offer for the Italian Super Cup, Saudi Arabia gives

Saudi Arabia has made a super offer for the organization of the Italian Super Cup. Lega Serie A has been made a very tempting proposal of 138 million euros for a 6-year agreement, until 2028-2029, for the development of the Italian Super Cup in this rich country.

In other words, the Arabs offer 23 million net for each season of this final (the host country would also pay travel and accommodation expenses). A value practically three times higher than the 8 million euros per season (final) of the current contract.


The bid is linked to the competition's new format, which will include a four-team tournament similar to the one hosted by Spain. Participants would be the first two classified in Serie A and the two finalists of the Italian Cup. The tournament will take place with three matches, two semi-finals and one final.

The winning team or one of the other participants would eventually go on to face the winning club of the Saudi Arabian Super Cup. A delegation from Lega Serie A, led by Luigi De Siervo, is expected to go to Riyadh in the coming days to negotiate and try to improve the terms of the contract, further increasing an already monstrous offer.
