Jordi Amat ka lindur në Spanjë 30 vjet më parë. Atje ai luajti për Espanyol, Rayo Vallecano dhe Betis, duke luajtur në atë vend në të gjitha kategoritë e të rinjve. Si i rritur ka luajtur edhe në Premier League (Sëansea) dhe në ligën belge (Eupen).

Verën e kaluar ai u nis për në Malajzi dhe aktualisht është në përbërje të skuadrës Johor, pasi edhe prejardhja e tij është Indonezia. Prandaj, nëntorin e kaluar, ai mori shtetësinë e atij vendi dhe u thirr për të përfaqësuar kombëtaren e tij.

“Gjyshja ime më tha, se isha princi i kurorës së një rajoni në Indonezi dhe po pres dokumentet që të mund të vërtetoj titullin”,- tha ai për gazetën spanjolle Marca.

Në fakt, stërgjyshi i qendërmbrojtësit ishte Rajá de Siau, mbreti në një nga ishujt në arkipelagun indonezian, titulli i të cilit kërkohet të trashëgohet.
