From the bus to the bench/ The special story of the coach who worked as a driver

The Espanyol team, where the Albanian midfielder Keidi Bare is active, has changed the helmsman and the story of the new coach is really special.

The management of the team has been entrusted to Manolo Gonzalez, who will succeed Luis Ramis on the bench, who resigned after the draw with Alcorko.

Already at the age of 45, Gonzalez is reaching the peak of his coaching career. His dream as a footballer was interrupted at the age of 21, when he hung his shoes on a nail, due to a serious injury.

From that time, Gonzalez started working in training, where he managed small and amateur teams, such as Ebro, Badalona and Penja Deportivo. Unable to make ends meet, Gonzalez worked as a bus driver for years in addition to coaching.

In 2021, he took charge of Espanyol B, while he has already been entrusted with the first team. Apparently, Gonzalez will now work as a full-time coach and give up his job as a bus driver.
