The famous boxer passes away, his epic duel with the great Ali (VIDEO)

Earnie Shavers, one of the strongest boxers in the history of boxing, has passed away at the age of 78 for reasons that have not yet become clear.

Throughout his successful career, "The Acorn" Shavers, also known as "The Black Destroyer", achieved a record of 74 wins, 14 losses and one draw (68 of the 74 victories achieved were by "Nkockout".

"Only God hits harder than me," Shavers would declare in an interview.

Actor and former boxer Randall "Tex" Cobb would say that "Earnie Shavers could punch you in the neck and break your ankle."

In 1977 Earnie Shavers lost to Muhammad Ali at Madison Square Garden in a match that would go down in boxing history.

"Earnie hit me so hard that it shocked my relatives in Africa," confessed Muhammad Ali, who won after 15 rounds by unanimous decision of the judges.
