The Berlusconi era in football ends

The Berlusconi family's era in football is finally coming to an end, after the sale of Monza. It began in 1986 with the purchase of Milan, a club that Silvio Berlusconi transformed from a team in crisis into a world power, winning 29 trophies in 31 years.

During this period, Milan became a symbol of modern football with the President's revolutionary ideas and close collaboration with Adriano Galliani. After selling Milan in 2017, Berlusconi decided to invest in Monza, promoting them to Serie A for the first time in history.

For three consecutive years the club remained in the top flight, thanks in part to bold choices on the bench. After Berlusconi's death, Galliani continued to manage until the transfer of ownership to new investors. His era has forever changed the way football is played in Italy and around the world.
