Rejected Albania for Italy, the AFL makes public the invitation for Luis Hasa

Luis Hasa was one of the most prominent footballers in the U21 European Championship, where he managed to win the trophy with the Italian jersey. Meanwhile, through a press release, the FA has announced that there was an official invitation for the footballer in May 2022, but that it was rejected and the player chose to play with Italy U21.

The Albanian Football Federation intensively continues its work for the growth, development and monitoring of talents inside and outside the territory of Albania with the clear goal of having the highest quality and competitive national teams. At the same time, for years the AFL has set up a large network of scouts to identify and follow closely the talented Albanian players who play all over the world. This network of scouts, which grows and expands month after month, alerts the National Teams Department to the most outstanding elements who are then invited by our teams from U-15 to the National A team.

We have made and always make our public invitation to every Albanian who wants to play with the Albanian jersey. There was no way to miss an invitation even for a great talent like Luis Hasa. Hasa has constantly been part of the monitoring of our technical staff and was invited for the last time officially on May 18, 2022, as seen in the letter addressed to the Juventus club, to play with Albania U-21 in the official matches against England and Kosovo.

At the same time, the player continues to be in the plans of our staff and the door continues to remain open not only for Luis Hasa, but for any Albanian talent who feels the red and black jersey. We respect his choice, we will always respect him and support him in his professional journey.
