Surprise transfer for Josip Ilicic! The striker has moved with zero parameters to the team where he became known, to Maribor in Slovenia.

The 34-year-old, who finished with Atalanta this season, will continue his career in his homeland, returning to Maribor after 12 years. The Slovenian has signed a 3-year contract, which will keep him bound for at least until 2025.

This news was made public by the Maribor club itself through a communiqué on its official website, welcoming the former footballer from Bergamo.

In addition to Atalanta and Maribor, Josip Ilicic was also active with the teams of Fiorentina, Palermo, Interblok, Bonifika and Britof.
