Bad news for the Portuguese national team, one of the leaders of the team risks the World Cup for injury

Porto's centre-back Pepe has suffered a serious knee injury and will be out indefinitely. The news was given by the "dragons" coach himself, Sergio Konseisao

In the press conference before the match against Portimonense in the Portuguese First League, the coach indicated that the former Real player "has sprained his knee and will not be in this match or the next ones".

Meanwhile, the club specified that Pepe suffered an injury to the internal collateral ligament of his left knee.

It is not known whether the 39-year-old will recover for the match against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on November 1 or will be ready to represent Portugal at the World Cup starting on November 20.

Kepler Laveran Lima, popularly known as Pepe was born in Brazil but has been part of the Portuguese national team since 2007. Porto are currently second in the First League with 19 points, three behind leaders Benfica. While in Group B of the Champions League, there are 3 points, just like Atlético and Bayer Leverkusen.
