Qatar 2022 "confuses" Superior/ The next season will be atypical for Albanian football

Unlike previous seasons due to the Qatar 2022 World Cup finals and the compression of the UEFA calendar for the Champions League and UEFA Conference League qualifying matches, the new 2022-2023 season of Superior will start on August 20, while it is expected to be a completely different edition and promises great emotions for football fans.

The Competition Department in the AFL proposed that the Super Cup final take place on December 7, 2022. The proposal was then approved by the AFL Executive Committee, as the Albanian champion, KF Tirana, and the winner of the Cup will face each other in this final. Albania, FK Vllaznia. 10 teams will participate in this edition of Superiore, where in total each team will play 36 matches throughout the season. Also, the start date of the Albanian Cup has been approved, which will start on September 15 and will end with the grand final on May 28, 2023.

The two teams ranked 9th and 10th are automatically relegated to the First Division next season, while the team ranked 8th goes into the play-outs, where they will face the winner of the play-off -off-it of the First Category. The play-out match will be played at the stadium of the team ranked 8th in the "Abissnet Superiore" championship.
