A strange story has been published in recent days. This is the story of a Swiss fan lost in the San Siro stadium toilet. Fan Rolf Bantle traveled to Italy to watch Basel take on Inter Milan in a Champions League qualifier in 2004.

During the match, which ended in a 4-1 win for the home team, Bantle went to the toilet but became disoriented and could not find his friends after the match. He decided to stay in Milan as he "had no commitments". and ended up staying for a decade, sleeping alone on the city streets.

Speaking to the Swiss newspaper 'Schweiz am Sonntag' in 2015, Bantle said he "enjoyed the freedom" of his unusual lifestyle in Italy. "I was suddenly in a different sector. I had about 20 euros in my pocket and no phone , so I got into Milan," Bantle said. "People gave me food and cigarettes, and one student offered me a sleeping bag."

Bantle eventually returned to Switzerland after falling and breaking his leg. Italian hospital staff realized he had no health insurance and contacted the Swiss consulate, which sent him home. At the time of the news in 2015, Bantle was living in a retirement home in Switzerland and apparently glad he wasn't on the road. "I like it here," he added. "Ten years are enough and I feel very good here now."
