Chaos before the World Cup! New facts are published, FIFA may exclude the team that will play the opening match

The opening match of the 2022 World Cup is scheduled to be the one between host Qatar and Ecuador. But in fact, this is no longer certain, as doubts have returned once again and the exclusion of the South American team is at risk as a result of Byron Castillo's citizenship.

Chile complained to FIFA about Castillo's participation in World Cup qualifiers, claiming he was Colombian and had falsified his documentation to play for Ecuador. FIFA finally came out with the decision that Castillo was Ecuadorian and closed the case.

But the British daily "Daily Mail" has published photos of the documentation that showed that Castillo was actually Colombian and had forged his documents to register with Ecuador. All this was also supported by an audio testimony of the footballer himself who admitted everything, while speaking to a commission of the Ecuadorian federation in 2018 about this issue.

Such evidence was not available to FIFA when it made the decision about him and now the situation becomes very chaotic only two months before the start of the most important football activity in the world. The FIFA Appeals Commission will meet in two days and these new evidences could change the situation drastically, removing Ecuador from the activity and sending Chile instead.
