Not only Nkunku, Chelsea lose another striker

Chelsea seem unlucky at this start of the season when it comes to player injuries. After Christopher Nkunku, captain Reece James and Wesley Fofana, another footballer is injured. We are talking about Carney Chukwuemeka, who in the match against West Ham scored the first goal with the "London Blues", but also suffered a serious knee injury.

The 19-year-old did not escape the surgical intervention, as he underwent the operation on Monday. The attacking midfielder is expected to be out for a period of six weeks, with manager Mauricio Pochettino missing another key element.

Chukwuemeka in these first days of the season is considered a starter for the Argentine coach, who already has to make other choices. Of course, options for Pochettino are the two most recent transfers of Chelsea, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, who are expected to be activated alongside the usual Enzo Fernandez.

Chukwuemeka joined the Chelsea club in August 2022 from Aston Villa as he has played 16 matches with the "Blues of London" so far.
