Hero against Inter, Adzic's special story

In European football there are always new stories to follow, and one of the most prominent ones currently involves a name that is quickly gaining ground on the big stage: Vasilije Adzic. Born on May 12, 2006 in Montenegro, he grew up in a period when Italian football was facing the scandal known as "Calciopoli", while Italy would later be declared world champions.

Meanwhile, in his place, Adzic would take his first steps at local club Polet Stars, before moving on to Budu?nost, where he displayed his early talent. In August 2022, he made his debut for the first team and scored immediately, a clear signal of his outstanding abilities.

Initially deployed as a midfielder, Adzic showed a special ability to be decisive in front of goal, combining vision in the game with a sense of goal. This profile quickly made him a target for Juventus scouts, who brought him to Italy in the summer of 2024, for a fee of approximately 4 million euros, including bonuses.

His transfer was intended for the youth team, with which he played ten games and scored four goals. However, coach Thiago Motta saw him ready for higher levels and gave him frequent opportunities to train and play with the first team. His Serie A debut came in October, in a match against Lazio.

There has been no shortage of positive reviews. Mota has described him as a player suited to the big team, while current coach Igor Tudor has emphasized that the club has been working with him for six months, appreciating his technique, speed, physical strength and dedication.

In Montenegro, comparisons go as far as names like Milinkovi?-Savic or Kevin De Bruyne, although Adzic himself has stated that his idols are Lionel Messi and Zinedine Zidane.

In the summer, there were rumors of a possible move to Palermo, but the player decided to stay to fight for a place in the Juventus first team. A decision that now seems right, especially after the decisive goal in the Italian Derby against Inter, where Adzic scored the fourth goal in the 4-3 victory of the Bianconeri, leaving his mark in one of the most important matches of the Italian championship.

His international career has also started well. He made his debut for the Montenegrin national team and scored in a friendly, and is now considered one of the most promising figures in Montenegrin football after Stefan Jovetic. Budu?nost sporting director Andrija Delibasic has called it “the most beautiful thing that has happened to Montenegrin football in the last 15 years.”

At this stage of the season, Juventus see him as an element that can bring freshness and quality. With Kosensao's physical problems and Kopmainers' fluctuating form, coach Tudor is seriously considering giving Adzic a starting place in the upcoming Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.
