The Premier League footballer is forced to quit football at the age of 24

Brighton midfielder Enok Muepu has been forced to retire from football at the age of 24 after discovering he was suffering from a hereditary disease.

After medical tests, the Premier League footballer was advised to give up football as he is at risk of suffering a cardiac arrest.

Through a statement, he announced his retirement from playing football.

“A boy from a small Zambian village called Chambishi has some news to share. He stayed strong to follow his dreams of playing football at the highest level and by God's grace he lived his dream by reaching the Premier League. However, some dreams come to an end, so I am saddened to announce the withdrawal due to the medical advice I have received."
