Chelsea confirms the bad news for Broja, the British media show the darkest scenarios

Armando Broja has closed for this season with the football played. The official confirmation has also come from Chelsea, who with an official statement explained the serious degree of injury to the footballer of the Albanian national football team.

"After suffering a knee injury during the first half of Sunday's friendly against Aston Villa, Armando underwent further tests on the club's return to England.

The scan results from these checks unfortunately confirmed a rupture of the cruciate ligament and that surgery was required.

After the surgery, Armando will work with the club's medical department during his rehabilitation and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2022/23 season," the club's statement read.

Thus, the club makes it clear that it expects Broja ready to return to the field only for the preparatory phase of the next season. While in the British media, this is seen as the most optimistic version. "A period on the sidelines of around 6 months is seen as realistic for Broja if everything goes according to plan, a period of time that would allow Broja to return to the preparatory phase. The worst possible scenario is 9 to 12 months", explained the "Daily Mail" in the article devoted to the injury which forces Chelsea to enter the market for a striker during January.
