Sensational/Mafia connections for benefits in the elections, the president of the Italian club is arrested

The mafia connections which are believed to have influenced the last elections in Italy, have sent behind the bars the president of the club of Foggia, which militates in the Italian Serie C. Nicola Canonico has been arrested along with 18 other people, including Bari city councilor for "Italia Popolare", Francesca Ferri.

The order was given by the judge for the preliminary investigations of Bari at the request of the Public Prosecution and the Anti-Mafia Directorate of Bari District. The president of Foggia, Canonico from 2004 to 2009, held the post of municipal councilor in Bari and was twice a district councillor.

Now, the Pulje investor faces serious charges that, if proven, could directly affect the progress of the football club.
