Day of Truth/ Albania, make us proud! 3 points against Serbia

Albania plays a decisive duel on its way to the World Cup this Saturday evening. The Red and Blacks will challenge Serbia, in a match where victory is required at all costs.

The duel is expected to take place in an electrifying atmosphere, with extraordinary interest both on and off the field, due to the rivalry and the importance that this matchup carries in the qualification race.

Serbia coach Dragan Stojkovic is coming off a crushing 5-0 defeat to England in Belgrade. It was the Serbs' first home defeat since September 2023 and a blow to a team that had started the qualifying campaign with two wins and a draw, without conceding a goal in their first three matches. Before the duel with England, Serbia had kept a clean sheet in five consecutive home matches, which still makes them a strong opponent at the Leskovac stadium.

On the other hand, Silvinjo's Albania comes into this match in good form. The Reds are unbeaten in their last five matches, recording three wins and two draws, including a minimal 1-0 win over Latvia. Albania's objective is clear, to get a third consecutive win for the first time since October 2023 and consolidate their position in the group.

However, away performances remain a point to improve. In the two matches away from Tirana in these qualifiers, the Rossoneri have only taken one point, which makes the match against Serbia even more challenging. However, the latest statistics show a gradual improvement of the team on the move, with three wins in the last six matches abroad.

This will be the fourth official meeting between Serbia and Albania. In the three previous matches, both national teams have recorded one win and one draw, while one of the matches was decided in the sports arbitration chamber, KAS. The Leskovac match will have not only sporting importance, but also symbolic, due to the history and the burden that this duel carries.

All security measures have been taken by the local authorities to guarantee the normal development of the match and a peaceful sporting evening. The Serbia-Albania match will be played this Saturday evening, starting at 20:45.
