Yesterday evening, Hearts of Midlothian had to abandon the Europa League dream: the double defeat against Zurich (1-2 and 0-1) was fatal for the Scots. However, they accuse because of an episode that happened in the final of the match: when the goalkeeper Craig Gordon, the historical number one of the Scottish national team, was hit by an object thrown from the visitors' sector.

The incident happened in the 67th minute when an object, which looked like a coin, flew towards the goalkeeper's head from the visitors' stand. The match referee came to check that Gordon was okay soon after.

He was seen clutching the back of his head but was able to continue the match, writes The Daily Record. "Scottish Sun" also reports some statements from the player: "I don't know what, but something hit me in the back of the head. These things happen, even though they shouldn't happen...".

It remains to be seen whether UEFA will take any action regarding the incident, or whether the incident will pass in silence and the episode will end with a fine of the Swiss team...
