Barcelona decides, Lamine Yamal as Leo Messi

Lamine Yamal is expected to take the number 10 shirt at Barcelona, ??inheriting one of the most important numbers in the club's history, previously held by Leo Messi.

The Catalan club had planned to announce the change on July 13, the day of the player's 18th birthday and the entry into force of the new contract until 2031.

However, the announcement could be made earlier, on July 1, the same day that Ansu Fati's loan to Monaco is expected to be made official.

Several signals on social media have confirmed the change: Yamal posted a photo of Maradona in a Barça shirt, and then said a symbolic farewell to number 19.

His father has also reacted, calling his son worthy of more than number 10. The club has planned to start sales of the new jerseys on July 2, a day after the official announcement.

For Barcelona, ??this is also an important commercial operation with an impact on the club's income.
