Agreement reached, Maignan's future decided

Negotiations between Milan and Mike Maignan are nearing completion, with the French goalkeeper expected to renew his contract until 2031.

The new deal will last for five years and will keep Maignan with the Rossoneri for the next decade. His salary will increase from €2.8 million net to €5 million net per season, plus guaranteed bonuses.

This puts the goalkeeper on the same financial level as key players in the squad, such as Rafael Leao. The total cost to the club in the 2026/27 season is expected to be around €6.5 million, including gross salary and depreciation.

The renewal of the contract was also influenced by the fiscal advantages of Italian law. Maignan's situation was followed by clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United. This season, he has kept a clean sheet in 11 of 24 matches.
