Alcaraz makes history, wins Australian Open over Djokovic

Carlos Alcaraz has won the Australian Open for the first time in his career, defeating Novak Djokovic in the final with a score of 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 after 3 hours and 2 minutes of play.

The Spaniard achieved the success despite fatigue from the five-and-a-half-hour long semifinal. After a difficult first set, Alcaraz significantly raised the level of play and took control of the match.

With this triumph, he becomes the youngest player in history to win all four Grand Slam tournaments in his career, at the age of 22 years and 272 days. The Australian Open is his seventh Grand Slam title.

Djokovic won the first set but failed to maintain consistency in the following. Alcaraz dominated the exchanges in the middle sets and proved more accurate in the decisive moments.
