16 buses with 850 Swiss fans are stopped at the border, they are not allowed to enter France...

Hundreds of Basel fans tried to make the trip to the Côte d'Azur for the Conference League quarter-final between Nice and Basel this Thursday (9pm). A ministerial decree was communicated on Tuesday, indicating a travel ban for Swiss nationals. 

The fan clubs of FC Basel appealed against this decree, to be able to follow the match, despite everything. They were waiting around 10am in Ventimiglia, Italy. When the rejection of the appeal was announced, many made the reverse journey to Switzerland.

In ordering the dismissal of the appeal, the judge in the State Council Chambers recalls the recent violent behavior by some radical fans of both camps. It recalls the events of Troyes, Monaco, Rennes or Cologne for OGCN fans. 

On the Basel side, incidents occurred in March 2022, against OM, at the Vélodrome. The judge, however, acknowledged that "there is no particular animosity between the fans of the two clubs, nor historical rivalry between these clubs," however the ministerial decree remained in force.
