Making fun of pensioners/ MPs doubled their salaries, the elderly only increased

The Parliament in Albania, in the plenary session of May 25, approved the draft law that increased the salaries of the President, Prime Minister, ministers, MPs and employees of the public administration.

The increase in the salaries of MPs and ministers was not foreseen in the Government's draft, but by making a show, the MPs united and doubled their salary.

Meanwhile, today the Council of Ministers approved the pension increase.

So far it seems like everything is reasonable, but the mockery lies in the fact that pensions were increased.

While the salaries of MPs doubled, the pensions of 767,000 senior citizens increased by only 8.6%.

So, if a pensioner received another 100,000 lek, from October they will receive the old 8,600 lek more.

This is a ridiculous increase, because with this money, they can't even buy a kilogram of meat.

The pensioners' basket continues to remain empty even after the government's "generous" increase./ CNA
