May 11th Elections/ OSCE/ODIHR Election Report: SPAK played a positive role

The OSCE/ODIHR mission has today published some of the details of the 20-page document drawn up from the observation conducted for the parliamentary elections of May 11. In a press conference, the representative of this mission focused on some of the findings of the document.

This report, among other things, emphasizes that the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has played a positive role throughout the entire process.

While focusing on the findings from the legal framework, the OSCE/ODIHR representative said that according to the observation mission, it was found that some of the legal shortcomings created uncertainty.

"Some other findings are related to the legal framework, which creates a good climate for elections. The shortcomings created uncertainty in the framework of legal implementation. Many fines were forgiven before the elections. And the implementation of some social issues before the elections. But citizens were not given the opportunity to hear a sincere idea, especially from the two leaders of the political parties. SPAK played a positive role. The CEC, SPAK and the Prosecutor's Office offered good cooperation. Let me assure you that we will be ready to cooperate with the new parliament for the good of the Albanian people", said the mission representative. /CNA
