The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj and the Minister of Agriculture, Frida Krifca presented the new agro-food market in Farka, AgroPark Tirana.

During his speech, the mayor said that the new market will save merchants 70% of the costs they previously paid to the private sector, and will also offer citizens cheaper organic products.

"In the private market, you paid without knowing what you were going to sell, without knowing how much the stock is in the market, because there was a fixed price of what is called 'measuring the head with a string'. In this market we pay up to 70% lower, not to make a profit, but to make sure that it is kept clean, that there are guards, lighting, hygiene, and there is some kind of order just to cover the costs, saving everyone 70% of the payments that went to private profit. To give the farmer more money from his product, to save the trader more of these vara-vingos and wasted oil, coming to the secondary road of the Tirana-Durres highway, and to translate all this saving into lower prices low prices for agricultural products produced in Albania and Tirana, with less cost, is an extraordinary success", he underlined./CNA.al
