The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has increased his media appearances with tapes, and in each of them he does not hesitate to attack the opposition or the protests in front of the Tirana Municipality, where the thefts committed by the directors of the Tirana Municipality are denounced every week, as well as the mayor is required to bear responsibility for them.

Not only does Veliaj not appear responsible for what happened in the country's first municipality, but he pretends that these thefts did not exist.

Instead, the daily topic of his meetings are only the protests, as if they have sprouted from nowhere and are not the result of the cause that the directors of the municipality created, that is, the theft of public funds.

This Sunday, Veliaj also addressed the arrest warrant issued for Berisha, saying that he did not arrest the chief democrat.

"They come there and say 'release dad'. What do I have to do with your father? I'm here to serve as Mayor, I'm here to pick up the trash, I'm here to make sure the Zoo line runs. I am here to clean the lake, so that sewage and feces do not go there. I am here to make the nursery and kindergarten contract. I am here to build the 9-year-old and the gymnasium. I am not their father's guardian. And these come to the municipality and say 'stop your work so that daddy can leave the house'", he said during the meeting with the socialists of Ward 13 in the capital.

The difference between the SP and the opposition, according to Veliaj, is the approach they have with justice, since according to him, the DP uses the party to attack the justice system, while the SP has made its contribution to the establishment of this justice system, which requires them to account for everyone, and unfortunately for him, he is also holding the mayor himself accountable./ CNA
