LGBTI organizations, in defense of their 'assets' in parliament:

LGBTI organizations, along with several women's organizations, liberal groups, and promoters of alternative gender rights, have come to the defense of the head of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, after his recent clash with Socialist MP Zegjine Çaushi.

In a letter to the Bureau of the Assembly, these organizations demand disciplinary action against MP Çaushi, arguing that she used offensive and derogatory language towards Bardhi during a parliamentary session. According to them, the MP's behavior constitutes a violation of parliamentary ethics and can no longer be treated lightly.

The debate between the parties began in the plenary session of February 19, when the socialist MP addressed Bardhi, reminding him of the poor result that the Democratic Party received in the Fier Region in the parliamentary elections of May 11, where he was Political Leader.

During her speech, Çaushi also used an ironic expression towards Bardhi, saying: " You are a man who came to Fier just to twist, with that body of yours like a tomato perch."

This statement has prompted a strong reaction from the LGBTI organization, which is demanding that parliamentary institutions react to protect the figure of Gazment Bardhi.

The clashes between Bardhi and Çaushi began during the campaign for the May 11 parliamentary elections, when the rhetoric became especially harsh in the Fier region, where Bardhi was the political leader of the opposition.

After the devastating result for the DP, with only 4 mandates won, the debates continued in the Assembly hall, where the parties exchanged accusations and strong retorts. In some plenary sessions, the clash has also taken on personal and ironic tones, already prompting the reaction of the LGBTI organization and 16 other organizations in defense of Bardhi.
