The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a meeting with the Presidency, stated that the Primaries are the passport to the opening and fundamental change of the DP.

He also revealed that two major issues will be discussed in this meeting.

1- The ongoing approval of candidacies for primaries in the remaining municipalities and 2- discussion of the opposition action as a whole.

Kjo mbledhje ka dy çështje madhore. Miratimin në vazhdim të kandidaturave për primare në bashkitë e mbetura dhe do të diskutojë rreth aksionit opozitar në tërësi.

Primaret janë bërë tashmë pasaporta e hapjes dhe ndryshimit thelbësor, palcor të PD-së.

Ato kanë krijuar një impakt shumë pozitiv tek anëtarët dhe simpatizantët tanë, por në përgjithësi tek të gjithë shqiptarët që besojnë tek vota e lirë, dhe respekti tek individi.

Shqiptarët kanë nevojë jetike për ndryshimin e PD-së, si parti e shpresës, besimit dhe të ardhmes. Ndryshimi natyrisht realizohet vetëm me vepra, me hapa konkretë.

In this context, after deep changes and an unprecedented cycle of votes within the party, after the approval of the rules, our party constitution, primary elections of the heads of branches, we are now moving to the election by our members and sympathizers of local governors.

This is undoubtedly the biggest change of this political force in these 30 years. But this also constitutes its biggest institutional opening in its entire existence.

The opening is multifaceted, but primaries are the most institutional, the most important form of this opening.

Today we have over 200 candidacies that come from DP, civil society, the academic world, but also from the diaspora and emigration" , said Berisha./ CNA.al
