The agreement for the Student Card for the University of Korça was signed by the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu and the Mayor of Korçë, Sotiraq Filo in the ceremony organized on this occasion in the City Library.

"The signing of the agreement for the Student Card becomes a reality in Korça, so that students can have services at the lowest possible rates, have services that are offered for free or have reduced prices in various services that they receive in the city." said the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.

According to the minister, the Student card brings multiple benefits to the students of the University of Korça, after the University of Tirana and Durrës, who already apply this card.

Students of "FS Noli" University will benefit through the Student Card, half-price tickets for performances at the "Andon Zako Çajupi" theater and free entry to sports events organized by the "Skënderbeu" club. Also, they will be offered at reduced rates visits to the "Bratko" Oriental Museum, the "Gjon Mili" Museum of Photography, the National Museum of Medieval Art, the Digital Arts Gallery in Korça, etc., said the Mayor. Sotiraq Philo.

Students will also be exempt from cleaning, lighting and green fees if they take the initiative to open a business in 2024.

The Municipality of Korça has also launched a technology and innovation program that aims to transform the city into an important technology center, offering numerous trainings at reduced prices for students through the student card.

The support of the Ministry of Education and Sports for students, including those from the University of Korça, has been continuous with student scholarships.

"There are more than 50,000 students who are supported with scholarships, reduced tuition fees or with full support regarding their studies. Also for this year we have made it possible to double the scholarship quotas equal to the minimum salary for students, for 350 students who study in priority programs and students of excellence", said Manastirliu.

MAS, for the first time this year, supports young people pursuing Higher Education with student loans, a new program that aims to cover the costs of studies and living for students who are not subject to other benefits. This new initiative will provide further opportunities for students facing financial challenges, allowing them to focus on their studies without worrying about financial aspects./ CNA
