"No" for Albania and Northern Macedonia at the EU summit / Majlinda

The Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council, Majlinda Bregu, spoke about the EU summit, where Albania and Northern Macedonia did not receive a "yes" for the opening of EU negotiations.

Invited to Top Story, Bregu stressed that what they had expected happened and the summit was consolidated without any positive news for the Western Balkans.

According to Bregu, the tones only intensified and there was a pessimism that one day our country will join the EU.

All this was underlined by Bregu, due to the problem between Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia.

"However, what we expected happened, the summit was canceled without any positive news for BP. Tightened tones, we would have had an increase in pessimism, pessimism that one day our country will join the EU. Albania remains one of the most supportive countries.

"Due to a problem that Bulgaria has with Northern Macedonia, it became an obstacle for Albania's membership in the EU", said Bregu.
