"BBC" investigation on Russian lobbying in the USA/DP of the

DP of "vula" has reacted in connection with the article of the prestigious media "BBC" and "Finance Uncovered", which lists facts about the Russian lobbying of Lulzim Basha in the USA.

Mirela Karabina says in a post on social networks that an article with some untruths taken "copy-paste" from the wave of slander against PD and Lulzim Basha was published in a distorted form in some media. According to her, McGonigal's conviction overturned the scenario of the attacks against Basha and PD and revealed their perpetrators.

"The fact that the article does not even mention the bribery that Edi Rama did to McGonigal to attack Lulzim Basha, shows who is interested in recycling this issue that has received a response from both the Albanian justice institutions and those of the USA. In 2019, the courts in Albania completely exonerated Mr. Basha and the Democratic Party, clearing him of any connection with this fabricated story," the reaction says.

In some media, an article with some untruths copied and pasted from the wave of slanders against DP and Lulzim Basha was published in a distorted form today. The fact that the article does not even mention the bribery that Edi Rama did to McGonigal to attack Lulzim Basha, shows who is interested in recycling this issue that has received responses from both the Albanian justice institutions and those of the USA.
Below is the text of the official letter that DP has sent to the BBC:
Dear Madam/Sir,
Unfortunately, you have published a news story without fully knowing the facts and without addressing the Democratic Party of Albania for a proper answer. You are rehashing an old story that has already been vetted and verified as untrue in the past. The narrative presented is unmistakably false from start to finish.
As has already been proven, neither Mr. Basha nor the Democratic Party and its campaigns have ever received funds from Russia. When this story first came out in 2017, Mr. Basha and the Democratic Party demanded a full investigation and cooperated fully with all investigative authorities.
In 2019, the courts in Albania fully exonerated Mr. Basha and the Democratic Party, clearing him of any connection to this fabricated story.
Moreover, it has since come to light that the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, had close ties with the then FBI agent, Charles McGonigal. According to investigations, including by the New York Times, these links were created primarily to hit Mr. Basha, being involved in a slander campaign against him, part of which were these false accusations.
