The SP candidate for deputy in the Korça district, Arian Jaupllari, has reacted to the video shared where a young man claimed to have received 10,000 lek from him in exchange for his vote.

Jaupllari, through a status on social networks, writes that by claiming that the vote is being protected, the SP electoral headquarters are being blackmailed.

Jaupllari further calls on the CEC, SPAK and every law enforcement body to shed light on the incident and hold accountable any person who attempts to create conflicts.

Dear citizens of Korça District!

Yesterday evening, a not-so-pleasant situation occurred, which aims to denigrate the Socialist Party's campaign and mine as its candidate, to aggravate the political climate, in a meaningless way, staged by our political opponents, creating repeated situations by the Democratic Party candidate, Edmond Spaho, dressed up under the pretense of denunciations, which stage and fabricate, with staged, false facts, which rise above theatrical performances to gain the lost support of the "magnificent swamp", which is becoming smaller and smaller.

Such structures, made up of irrational militants, who, under the pretense of "protecting the vote," blackmail and threaten the electoral headquarters of the Socialist Party and endanger the safety of citizens every day.

No video or photo that is distorted and taken out of context can serve as an alternative alibi for the opponents' loss of the elections on May 11.

To clarify the situation, yesterday I had, as part of the electoral campaign, a tour of several villages and to close the day of electoral engagement I stopped in the village of Podgorie around 19:00. I held individual meetings with various residents of the village, in over 20 families, and I invited them to support the Socialist Party and my candidacy, as I have done on every day of the campaign. While I was finishing the meeting, around 20:30, a vehicle with Greek license plates, together with another vehicle, a “Range Rover”, were chasing me and the young people who accompanied me to the meeting.

At one point, the driver of the vehicle with Greek license plates stood there, shouting and making accusations at the young people. In order not to create an incident or conflict between the parties, we continued the program according to the agenda.

A few moments later, we were informed that Edmond Spaho has published 2 videos, in which it is clearly seen that there is no compromising, illegal action or one that violates the Electoral Code, but on the other hand, there is a way that insists on using the situation for electoral purposes and to create an incident on the eve of the elections.

Under these conditions, we call on SPAK, the CEC, and the State Police to shed light on the incident and hold accountable any person who attempts to create conflicts, meaningless clashes, and false reports.

I personally guarantee that the issue is a political machination created by the Democratic Party's fever of defeat, but that it will receive the appropriate response on May 11th.

I invite citizens to go en masse and safely to the ballot boxes and not fall prey to any provocation or public blackmail.
