Berisha: If PD comes to power, it will overturn the income distribution model
The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha

The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, accused the government of the economic situation and salaries in Albania.

He compared the increase in wages in Romania with those in Albania, while saying that they were lower than in our country and are now four times higher.

Berisha declared in a meeting with retirees that if he comes to power, he will overturn the income distribution model.

"In 2013, the minimum wage in Romania was 800 lei, 1 euro is 5 lei. So it was 160 euros, the minimum wage. We had about 200 euros minimum.

Where is the Romanian minimum wage today? Today, the minimum wage of Romanians, please, here you have it, 3300 lei. So, during this period, from 2013 to 2024, the Romanian minimum wage has more than quadrupled. But why? Yes, because every government is obliged to distribute wealth, distribute income to citizens, distribute taxes to citizens.

And so, those who were with us. They ran past us because he froze salaries. They cheat with salaries and pensions. I gave them this example to understand, because I ask myself: how is this possible, these people steal. That there is a moment here, it will come out.

During the dictatorship, you remember, salaries did not move, only seniority increased as it was and the salary remained the same. There was no inflation either, because it was fixed by order, but the money went to tunnels and bunkers, and the Albanians remained the poorest.

Now, what happens? Salaries do not increase, pensions do not increase. Money is stolen, that's the truth. Money is stolen and only stolen in a terrible way.

Then we come back to our answer. The answer is: we will overturn the model of income distribution. If, today, out of 8.2 billion, only 800 million are allocated to salaries, and another 8.5% of GDP goes to education and the same amount to health, all the rest goes to public works, which in a way or in another they fine the Albanians almost as much as the bunkers", emphasized the head of the DP./ CNA
