Cooperation with small parties?/ Këlliçi: Opposition camp with 52%

Democratic MP Belind Këlliçi hinted that the opposition may aim for a form of cooperation with small parties to come up with a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana.

In a television appearance, Këlliçi said today that in the May 11 elections, the opposition camp received about 52% of the votes in the Tirana Municipality and described it as a golden moment that should be exploited by the opposition.

"On May 14, 2023, there were no elections and we have proven this. I have proven it for myself with my political action for two years in a row. And we have proven that in the case of the Tirana Municipality, the entire electoral headquarters of Erion Veliaj was a criminal headquarters, that is, it was the 5 D headquarters. The leaders of this headquarters are in prison today, for corrupt affairs in the Tirana Municipality. And the head of this headquarters, Erion Veliaj, is also in prison.

I think that the opposition should find the modalities and profiles of candidates with whom to confront Ogerta Manastirliu, at the first moment that we will have a presidential decree, where we will also learn the date of the elections in the capital. The candidate should have a clear political profile, to give a strong message to the citizens.

"In the electoral farce of May 11, in fact, if you analyze the figures, the entire opposition camp has about 52% of the votes in the Municipality of Tirana. This is a golden moment that should be used by the opposition, with a found candidacy, which can create a broader cohesion than just the membership, supporters, sympathizers of the DP", said Këlliçi./ CNA
