The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has inspected the works at the 9-year-old "Musine Kokalari" school, which was damaged by the November 26 earthquake.

Veliaj said that the school has become almost twice as big, now for 1200 students. The mayor added that the Municipality of Tirana is the first to apply anti-seismic beams.

“Na është dhënë një mundësi e jashtëzakonshme për ta bërë shkollën thuajse dy herë më të madhe e më të fortë, e të kalojmë nga 790-800 nxënës në 1200 nxënës. Një pjesë e shkollës do të përforcohet, që i rezistoi tërmetit. Përveç kësaj, do të bëjmë edhe një shtesë, si në kate, ashtu edhe me një palestër me standarde olimpike.
