The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has revealed the details and issues that were discussed in the 45-minute meeting with the US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar.

"I welcomed today the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for European Affairs and the Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Mr. Gabriel Escobar.

I appreciated the open communication on all the issues we discussed in the meeting.

I emphasized the importance of maintaining the joint partnership and strategic alliance between the United States of America and Albania.

Për Shqipërinë, aleanca me SHBA është themelore për demokracinë, zhvillimin ekonomik, sigurinë e vendit dhe të rajonit.

E falenderova për mbështetjen e projektit të bazës së NATO-s në Kuçovë, si dhe ndihmën e jashtëzakonshme për forcimin e kapaciteteve mbrojtëse të sigurisë kibernetike.

Vlerësova se angazhimi i SHBA-ve në procesin e negociatave mes Kosovës dhe Serbisë është thelbësor dhe garantues drejt përfundimit me sukses të dialogut mes dy vendeve.

Theksova se zgjedhjet e 14 Majit janë një ditë e madhe e  ndryshimit për të gjithë shqiptarët, që do t’i japin fund monizmit në pushtetin vendor dhe do të rikthejë demokracinë, transparencën dhe Llogaridhënien në të gjitha bashkitë e vendit.

Nënvizova vendosmërinë e Partisë së Lirisë për të përmbushur të gjitha detyrimet që burojnë nga partneriteti dhe aleanca strategjike midis Shqipërisë dhe SHBA.
