Where was the policeman, the inspector, the deputy, the headman, the mayor when the foundations were being laid?
Why does the state only wake up when the roof is finished?
The solution? Violence. Even more spectacular.
And from the mountains, violence descends into the studio. Real and staged fights. For the audience.
Violence on TV.
Violence in Parliament.
Violence at school.
Domestic violence.
Online violence.
A bunch of commentators, who "have husks instead of brains," can't wait to vent their anger.
There is no room for argument or logic.
A French philosopher says that violence is the truest indicator of a lack of vocabulary. Communication turns into confrontation.
The new idols are the strongest.
We have made violence part of our language, our behavior, and part of the solution.
We don't talk, we hit.
We don't listen, we shout.
We don't convince, we threaten.
Instead of words, we have fists.
Instead of minds, we have muscles.
Verbal violence!
Psychological violence!
Physical violence!
And the arrogance of the strong is evident from the sloppy police officer who hits an 18-year-old (and doesn't even apologize) to the brainless and honorless legislators who violently pass laws to the detriment of the public interest.
Violence begets violence!
It is easier to rule a frightened crowd for a living than a conscious citizenry.
Even tradition doesn't help us much: "he who beats you, loves you", "the old man has fallen from heaven"...
Words have lost their value. Education seems out of date. The ignorant are more convinced than ever and the fools have been fooled.
