Ermal Hasimja for Mayor of Tirana

The intrigues surrounding the arrest and dismissal of Erion Veliaj, not that Erion should have ended differently, are fueling interesting political developments in Albania.

Prime Minister Rama has nominated Ogerta Manastirliu from the socialist camp for mayor of the most important Albanian city, openly challenging Erioni in prison, who is trying to block this process through legal means.

Agron Shehaj from the Mundësia Party, which won two MPs in Tirana in the last elections, has come up with the proposal that the opposition, i.e. the DP, Mundësia and anyone else, unite around a non-partisan candidate, whom they should find through negotiations.
I believe that this is the only path that can bring both change and party pluralism in Albania.

Today, the DP team, Ilir Ali Mehmeti and Belind Këlliçi, met with the Mundësia team, Erald Kapri and Barbara Doda. Among other things, the idea that Ermal Hasimja should be the joint opposition candidate for mayor of Tirana was born from there.
I see enthusiasm for Ermal's proposal on social networks, rightly so.

I know Ermal and I can also consider him a friend. He is ideologically right-wing, but not only in talk, but also in theoretical preparation and practical activity, founder and director of the best private school in Albania, “Ernest Koliqi”.
Ermal is more right-wing than all the right-wingers in Albania, but he is neither militant nor a fan. He is right-wing because he believes not blindly, but because he has read and is convinced.

Otherwise, Ermali is originally from Gjakova and is proud of this fact.
Tirana would be both lucky and happy to vote for this citizen, in all senses of the word citizen. Moreover, Ermali speaks four or five of the most important languages ??in the world fluently.
Berisha should support this proposal if he really wants the SP to lose Tirana.
