Ismet Shehu, the well-known Albanian chef, has recently revealed that he has met Queen Elizabeth II.

He told how a few years ago he was selected as a student to go to Buckingham Palace, where he would serve the Queen.

Shehu says that many students were not happy about this achievement of his, as they did not believe that an Albanian would go to the royal palace.

 "We were told that one of the students will go to Buckingham Palace, we would also do cooking and service, I chose service because I wanted to be closer to the queen. They told me to go and serve, when you go you will sit on your knees and say 'your majesty'. I was very excited. It has been a special emotion since I was selected to the class, where some students did not understand why an Albanian should go to serve in the royal palace. The emotion was very great, only the cheers that could be heard from the people gathered outside the palace gave a special emotion", he said.

He also revealed a bit of the menu he cooked at that time.

"All the cooking has been with fish, with very small details, salmon, salads, soup", added the chef.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away yesterday at the age of 96.
