The Court of Appeal in Durrës has left in force the "prison arrest" security measures for the 3 arrested for the murder of Pëllumb Meta.

Hyseni, Hygerta and Amarildo will continue to stay in the cell, while the investigation continues into the serious incident. The three children are accused of killing and then burying their father in the apartment. 

Court decision: 

From the acts in the file it appears that, on 13.02.2024, around 22:30, the citizen with the initials HM, a resident of the village of Saint Vlash, Durrës, appeared at the Durrës Police Station and reported that his father, the citizen with initials PM resident in Saint Vlash, Durrës, left the apartment on 10.02.2024 and has not returned. Following the investigative actions, the dead body of the citizen P. M was found, the suspects for committing this criminal offense are his children.

The Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës has conducted the trial related to the legal evaluation of the arrest and the assignment of the measure of security "arrest in prison", to the persons under investigation, citizens with the initials H. M, H. M and A. M, suspected of committing the criminal offenses "Murder due to family relations", "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Hiding or disposing of a corpse" carried out in cooperation, provided for by article 79/c, 278/4, 303 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

The Court of First Instance of Durrës General Jurisdiction, with decision no. 127/1 Reg. Them, dated 26.02.2024, decided:

1. To evaluate as legal the arrest in flagrante delicto of the citizen H. M, suspected of committing the criminal offenses "Murder due to family relations", "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", "Hiding or disposal of the corpse" carried out in collaboration, provided by articles 79/c, 278/4, and 303 and 25 of the Penal Code.
2. To assign to citizen H. M the measure of personal security "Prison", provided for in Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
3. To evaluate the legality of the arrest in flagrante delicto of the citizen H. M, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Murder due to family relations"; "Hiding or disposing of the corpse", carried out in cooperation provided by articles 79/c, 303 and 25 of the Penal Code.
4. To assign to citizen H. M the measure of personal security "Prison", provided for in Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
5. To evaluate as legal the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen A. M, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Murder due to family relations"; "Hiding or disposing of the corpse", carried out in cooperation provided by articles 79/c, 303 and 25 of the Penal Code.
6. To assign to citizen A. M the measure of personal security "Prison", provided for in Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The case on appeal was reviewed on the basis of the complaints made by the persons under investigation with the initials H. M and A. M, who requested the change of the decision to set a measure of personal security, that of "obligation to appear before the judicial police".

At the end of the trial, today on 02.04.2024, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, composed of the panel with Judge Mrs. Alma Kolgjoka, decided:

- Approval of decision no. 127/1 Reg., date 26.02.2024 of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Durrës./ CNA
