The murder of Gentian Bejtja in Fushë-Kruje, the Appeal leaves the two

The Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction has left Ilir Beqaraj and Edison Haxhiu in prison, accused of being involved in the assassination of Gentian Bejtja.

Gentian Bejtja, a well-known name in the world of crime, was executed with a barrage of bullets on the afternoon of March 15 in his apartment in Larushk, Fushë-Kruja.

"Referring to previous reports in the media, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction informs the following:

 Issue no. 1:

On 15.03.2024, around 4:25 p.m., a notification was received from the hall of the Krujë Police Station, that unidentified persons shot and killed the citizen G. B, in the premises of the courtyard of his apartment, in the village of Larushk , Kruje field.

The Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana has conducted the trial related to the legal evaluation of the detention and the assignment of the measure of personal security "arrest in prison", to the person under investigation, the citizen with the initials I. B alias B alias M, of suspected of committing the criminal offense "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Forgery of documents", provided by article 278/4 and 189 of the Criminal Code, as well as against the person under investigation, the citizen with the initials E H, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Providing the conditions and material means to commit murder", provided by Article 80 of the Criminal Code

The Court of First Instance of Tirana General Jurisdiction, with decision no. 764 Act, dated 21.03.2024, decided:

1. The evaluation as legal of the arrest in flagrante delicto against the person under investigation I. B alias B alias M.

2. The appointment as a personal security measure against the person under investigation I. B alias B alias M, that of "arrest in prison", provided by article 238 of the Penal Code.

3. The evaluation as legal of the arrest in flagrante delicto against the person under investigation EH

4. The appointment as a personal security measure against the person under investigation E. H, that of "arrest in prison", provided by article 238 of the Penal Code

 The case on appeal was considered on the basis of the appeals made:

- From the person under investigation with the initials E. H, who requested the change of the decision, the assignment of a milder security measure such as "house arrest" as an alternative to "prison arrest" with a 2-month term.

- From the person under investigation with the initials I. B alias B alias M, who requested the change of the decision, the assignment of a milder security measure such as "house arrest" or "compulsion to appear before the judicial police".

At the end of the trial, today on 09.04.2024, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, composed of the panel with Judge Mr. Sokol Pina, decided:

- Approval of decision no. 764, dated 21.03.2024, of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana."/ CNA
