The two suspected perpetrators of the murder of the Albanian businessman, Xhani Topalli in Rhodes, have been left in prison.

After their confession, with the unanimous decision of the Investigator and the Prosecutor's Office, they were classified as temporary arrestees and were left in prison, while it is expected that the punishment for them will be given when the investigations are closed.

The two defendants, in the presence of lawyers, claimed that the death of the Albanian businessman occurred as a result of his falling to the ground, but did not argue how he was left with a rope around his neck.

While the perpetrators were known inside the court, outside it, compatriots and family members of the victim gathered and demanded that they rot in prison.

In a statement to the media, the head of the Albanian Community of Rhodes, Aris Kasapi, stated that they wanted not only to express their indignation at the murder of the 46-year-old, but to demand exemplary punishment for those responsible.

"We have gathered as people, as compatriots of the victim, to send a message, to demand the real punishment of those people who took his life. This is a heinous crime and what we ask for is that justice be served", said Kasapi, while mentioning that next week a large rally will be held in Rhodes by the Albanian community in cooperation with the island's trade unions.
