Murder of 45-year-old in Shijak/ Two suspected perpetrators arrested after

The two suspected perpetrators of a murder that occurred in January this year in Shijak have been arrested. According to police information, two cousins, IF, 38 years old, and DF, 36 years old, have been arrested.

During a conflict for weak motives, they shot citizen D. Ç., 45 years old, who died a few days later in the hospital.

The Durrës Court had imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on the two perpetrators for the criminal offenses of "Intentional Murder", committed in collaboration, and "Unlicensed Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition".

The security measure "Arrest in prison" is being executed for the 2 suspected perpetrators of the murder of a 45-year-old man in January 2026, in Shijak.

Specialists of the Serious Crimes Investigation Section of the Durrës Local Police Directorate executed the security measure "Arrest in prison", assigned by the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for the criminal offenses "Intentional Murder", committed in collaboration, and "Unauthorized Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition", for the following citizens:

-IF, 38 years old and DF, 36 years old (cousins), both residents of Shijak.

These citizens were declared wanted after investigations suspected that on 27.01.2026, in the city of Shijak, they had a conflict for weak motives with citizen D. Ç., 45 years old, and shot him with a firearm. Due to the injuries, the 45-year-old died a few days later in the hospital.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action. / CNA
