A 73-year-old man tragically lost his life this morning in the Lugas neighborhood of Plashnik village, Poliçan.

Citizen Flamur Totaj lit a fire in his olive grove to burn the waste, but the fire got out of control and spread over a large area of ??land.

The victim did not notify the fire services or the Police, but tried to put out the fire himself.

During the attempt to isolate the spread of the flames, the 73-year-old asphyxiated and as a result lost his life.

After the notification received from the headman of Plashnik village, regarding the incident, the police and fire services went to the scene.

The investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office continues its work to fully clarify the circumstances of the event.
