Italian authorities in cooperation with SPAK have carried out an operation, hitting a criminal group that ran a chain of restaurants in Florence. 

According to the Italian media, this group has managed to buy 31 restaurants from 2012 until today, most of them in the center of Florence, two hotels, car rental and beer production businesses for about 13.5 million euros.

Part of the criminal group are 9 suspected persons such as the former goalkeeper of Fiorentina and Naples, Giuseppe Taglialatela, 55 years old, now the legal representative of Ischia Calcio, Alessandro Bigi, 49 years old, Florentine and Eluert Kamami, 40 years old, the latter two were and the "heads" of the gang.

The group has spent about one and a half million euros in cash.

The money was then used, at least in part, to pay the premises workers illegally and the rest to be reinvested in the purchase of restaurant businesses in the center of Florence.

According to what is reported, this criminal group, of which Albanian citizens were also part, had a large number of restaurants through which they earned money and reinvested it in the purchase of other premises and to which the District Antimafia Directorate has access to the center of attention.

The leaders of the criminal group, Kamami and Bigi, according to investigators, bought three Ferraris, jewelry, gold bars and diamonds.

They also bought 50 percent of the shares of Ischia Calcio with cash in the period between December 2023 and May 2024./ CNA
