They were distributing counterfeit banknotes/ 2 people arrested in Vlora

Vlora Police today arrested 2 citizens who were providing counterfeit euros and criminally prosecuted 1 other person who was introducing them into the market by making purchases at various businesses in the city.

The action was the finalization of the police operation "Fake Cash", which struck another case of distribution of counterfeit banknotes.

As a result, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:

• JT, 25 years old, resident of Skrapar;

• BS, 35 years old, resident of Përmet.

The citizen TK, 24 years old, resident of Vlora, was also released on bail.

According to the Police, the investigative actions have resulted in these citizens, in collaboration with each other, engaging in illegal activity of distributing counterfeit banknotes in the city of Vlora. Citizen TK is suspected of obtaining counterfeit banknotes from the two arrested and then placing them on the market, using them for purchases in various businesses in the area.

During the operation, an amount of 2,550 euros, suspected to be counterfeit, in 50 and 100 euro denominations, was seized as material evidence.

Under the direction of the Vlora Prosecutor's Office, investigations continue to identify and capture other persons involved in this illegal activity.

The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
