Internationally wanted Italian arrested in Durrës

The Border Police at the Port of Durres have arrested an Italian citizen, who is internationally wanted.

The arrest of 51-year-old AG was made with the aim of extradition to Venezuela, after the Caracas Court ordered him to be placed under "prison arrest" on charges of fraud.

Durrës Police received information that a wanted citizen will travel to Italy.

" A 51-year-old man, who is internationally wanted, is caught by the Border Police and arrested with the aim of extradition to Venezuela. The Border Police Services at the Port of Durrës, based on information provided by police intelligence that a citizen who is internationally wanted would travel to Italy, have intensified controls to capture him. As a result, the Italian citizen AG, 51 years old, resident in Italy, was caught attempting to leave Albania and arrested with the aim of extradition.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Caracas, after the Caracas Court, in 2017, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Fraud", provided for by the Venezuelan Criminal Code. Interpol Tirana continues its cooperation with Interpol Caracas, to extradite this citizen to Venezuela" , the police announced./ CNA
