A minor collided with a boat in Potam/ The verdict is given for Arjan Tasen

The court of Vlora has sentenced to 18 years in prison, Arjan Tasen, the former policeman who crashed the 7-year-old Jonada Avdia with a speedboat in Potam of Himara.

Tase was tried for manslaughter in an indirect way, after taking the life of the minor, who was on the beach on vacation.

The Vlora Prosecutor's Office had requested Tase's guilty plea and a 15-year prison sentence for "intentional murder", but the court ordered 18 years in prison.

"In the final conclusions, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Vlorë, declares that it is proven that on the day of the event, on 02.08.2022, it turns out that the defendant Arjan Tase was driving a two-wheeled boat engines and after leaving several people on the seashore, at the moment it started to leave the area where citizen BA was swimming with his daughter Jonada Avdia, the vehicle gained a lot of speed going in their direction and when taking the turn the engines they caught the minor girl by cutting her all over her body. The minor died at the moment", announced the Prosecutor's Office./ CNA
