A fire has broken out on the fourth floor of a building in neighborhood no. 7 of the city of Durrës, in the area known as "Çezma e Ferrës".

The flames have engulfed the apartment of an elderly woman who lives alone. The spread of the fire has also caused smoke in the common areas of the building.

It is learned that four people were taken to the hospital for medical attention after asphyxiating from smoke.

The fire service that arrived at the scene managed to extinguish the flames in time to prevent them from spreading.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire, with an electrical spark suspected.
