The traffic police follow the controls dedicated to identifying and punishing violators of traffic rules who are a potential risk for involvement in traffic incidents.  

In this context, during one week, 26 vehicle drivers were arrested/proceeded at large for violating various traffic rules.

955 vehicle drivers were punished with administrative measures for using mobile phones while driving.

351 drivers were punished for not wearing a seat belt. 

2100 vehicle drivers were punished for wrong overtaking, dangerous maneuvers on the road, speeding above the permitted rate and various other violations.

110 driving licenses have been suspended for driving under the influence of alcohol or in a drunken state, as well as for speeding beyond the permitted limits. 

225 administrative measures have been imposed for failure to wear protective helmets by motor vehicle drivers.

5 pairs of unregistered or expired license plates in the country of origin were removed.  

The Traffic Police of Tirana appeals to all road users to strictly respect the traffic rules and invites citizens to report any violation of the traffic rules to the number 112 and to the Digital Police Station.
